When You Feel Overwhelmed, Stuck, or Disconnected From Yourself

You may be going through the day feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your thoughts, or emotionally drained. You might be struggling with urges to self-harm, your relationship with food, or feeling disconnected from who you are.

At night, your mind may race. You may replay conversations, question yourself, or feel like you’re not enough. Even when you are surrounded by people, you may still feel alone in what you’re going through.

I’m Jennifer Rallo, LMHC. I provide virtual therapy throughout New York State for teenagers, young adults, and adults navigating self-harm, eating disorders, depression, LGBTQIA+ related challenges, emotional regulation, and identity concerns.

Why Work With Me

Many of the people I work with want to feel more in control of their emotions, reduce harmful behaviors, feel more confident in who they are, and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.

I’m direct, but also warm and supportive. I want you to feel safe, heard, and understood while also helping you look at patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Therapy with me is a team effort. If you want both support and gentle challenge and are open to better understanding yourself, this may be a good fit. If you are looking for someone to simply give you answers without being part of the process, my approach may not be the right fit.

My Approach to Therapy

I help you understand what is going on beneath the surface: your thoughts, emotions, and patterns.

Together, we look at what may be keeping you stuck and develop practical tools to help you manage what you are going through. I focus on building awareness, strengthening coping skills, and helping you feel more in control of your life.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, and some DBT-informed work based on your needs.

The goal is to help you better understand yourself and move forward in a way that feels realistic.

What Working With Me Is Like

In sessions, I balance honesty and gentle challenge with warmth, validation, and practical support.

I want therapy to feel respectful and helpful, not overwhelming. We may explore emotional reactions, self-critical thoughts, identity, harmful behaviors, relationships, or patterns that are no longer serving you.

Over time, change may look like pausing before reacting, becoming more aware of your thoughts and feelings, and treating yourself with more understanding instead of criticism.

Getting To Know Me

I have seven years of experience working with clients across different age groups, including individuals navigating self-harm, eating disorders, depression, and identity-related concerns.

I bring both personal and professional experience into my work, which helps me connect with clients in a genuine and relatable way.

Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy hiking, spending time with friends and my animals, boxing, and spin classes.
