When Everyday Anxiety Keeps You Up at Night

You may be in school and overthinking everyday life concerns, comparing yourself to others, or wanting to be perfect. You may be trying to manage relationships, responsibilities, and internal struggles within yourself that are hard to explain.

At night, those thoughts may keep coming up. Every day anxiety may keep you up, even when you are tired and want your mind to slow down.

I’m Alexa Leigh Raimondo, LMSW. I provide therapy for teens and young adults in New York who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship strain, life uncertainties, low self-esteem, and the pressure to keep everything together.

Why Work With Me

Clients are often drawn to me because of my gentle and compassionate presence. They describe me as warm, relatable, and easy to talk to, which helps them feel comfortable opening up.

I create an environment where clients don’t feel the need to hide what’s truly going on. You can come in as you are, without needing to have everything figured out or say things perfectly.

My therapeutic style is warm, relaxed, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a safe space where clients feel heard, accepted, and comfortable being themselves.

If you are motivated to grow and work through your challenges, this may be a good fit. I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults who are looking for someone they can talk to openly and who value gentle guidance and support.

My Approach to Therapy

I support clients in learning practical techniques to manage anxiety and stress. Together, we can explore the root causes of depression and work toward restoring a sense of joy to your life. We may also look at comparison, perfectionism, relationship strain, low self-esteem, self-care, and the thoughts that keep you up at night.

I use CBT, motivational interviewing, and client-centered therapy. These approaches help us understand your thoughts, build coping skills, and work on positive change in a way that feels manageable.

The goal is to help you stop overthinking, manage anxiety, recognize your worth, and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

What Working With Me Is Like

In sessions, I use active listening, gentle support, practical tools, and motivation. I approach each person with openness and genuine curiosity, listening deeply and without criticism. I am gentle and caring in my work, aiming to support clients with empathy, respect, and understanding as they navigate their experiences.

This is a space where you can feel heard, accepted, and comfortable being yourself. We may talk through what is making anxiety feel hard to manage, what is affecting your relationships, or what is getting in the way of fully enjoying life.

Over time, clients often stop overthinking and learn how to manage anxiety, so they can start enjoying life more fully.

Getting To Know Me

I have a strong background in school counseling. Most of my college internships were in school social work, and after graduation, I worked as a school social worker at a preschool. I also completed leave replacement roles in middle school and elementary school.

In these roles, I counseled students, ran groups, and supported outreach. These experiences shaped my work with teens and young adults who are navigating school, relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, and life changes.

Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy working out, trying new coffee shops and restaurants, and exploring all things beauty and shopping. I value balance in my life and enjoy finding small moments of joy and self-care in my everyday routine.
